Assistant Winemaker (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Divergent Drinks have an exciting opportunity to join our team as Assistant Winemaker. This is a full-time role based at our production facility in Worthing, West Sussex.

 

Having just completed our third harvest, Divergent Drinks is now well established in the English wine industry and has enjoyed enormous success with our flagship brand, Fitz Sparkling Wine. Proud to be different, Fitz was the first wine to be produced in the UK using the charmat method, and we are still the only producer to oversee the whole process from grape to bottle. With a range of still wines soon be released and other products in the pipeline, it’s a great time to join a fast-growing, innovative UK wine business.

 

Prospective candidates will have ideally held a full-time production role, completed at least 2-3 vintages and have experience in the following areas:

 

·         Fruit intake and processing

·         Lab work (including spectrophotometry)

·         Floatation clarification

·         Additions/inoculations

·         Ferment monitoring

·         Record-keeping

·         Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning

·         Rackings/transfers/blending

·         barrel work

·         Filtration

·         More cleaning

·         Bottling/labelling

·         Forklift operation

 

The ideal candidate will possess all of the attributes below:

 

·         Positive attitude and a solid work ethic

·         Be of able body and comfortable lifting up to 25kg

·         Be reliable, punctual and possess sound attention to detail

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·         Have a sound understanding of and commitment to workplace safety

·         Strong numeracy & literacy skills

·         Be willing to work reasonable overtime to meet seasonal/operational demands

·         Right to work in the UK

·         Valid drivers’ licence

 

Remuneration negotiable and based on previous experience. All necessary training provided. There is no accommodation provided with this role. Own transport desirable, not essential.
