An exciting opportunity exists for anyone seeking to develop skills in Business Administration (Level 3) by joining a thriving independent wine merchant in Eynsham.
Alongside this the successful applicant will be sent on WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) courses to learn about wine so they can be more familiar and confident about what we sell. They will also be invited to portfolio tasting events to meet producers and improve their knowledge.
The shop is open 7 days per week, so the position will include a mix of midweek daytimes alongside some evening and weekend work.
After the apprenticeship this will leave the successful applicant with transferable experience in Business Administration, useful connections in the wine industry, as well as a good understanding about running a small business.
Main duties:
- General office duties - copying, managing post
- Book-keeping
- Invoicing
- Updating the website
- Receiving and booking in deliveries
- Dealing with online and telephone sales as well as spending time in a customer-facing role in the shop

Needs to have a positive and hard working attitude with the willingness to progress.
Desired qualifications
GCSE (or equivalent) grade C or above in English and Maths desired but not essential.
Future prospects
After completing this apprenticeship the successful candidate will have gained useful skills in running a small business, the wine courses and connections they will have made through our business will put them in a strong position to progress in the wine trade (either with us or elsewhere). Many of these skills learned can also easily be transferred to any office or retail environment.

The candidate must be 18 or over due to the nature of the business.
