Chez Bruce, Michelin starred restaurant overlooking Wandsworth Common, is looking for an Assistant Head Sommelier. The Directors of the restaurant are fanatical wine-lovers and are very proud of the restaurant’s wine list. Head Sommelier Victor Barré maintains the fabulous list which truly is one of the very best in the UK. We have invested in our cellar greatly over the years and this ongoing investment enables us to list many great and rare wines during their perfect drinking windows at very reasonable prices.

This is a marvellous opportunity to assist the head sommelier in maintenance and development of our extensive wine list. 

Key duties include:

  • Running the wine service of a demanding and busy dining room in the absence of the head sommelier
  • Ensuring correct pricing and vintage listings
  • Ordering & stock control of wines, spirits and soft drinks
  • Completion of quarterly stock takes
  • Working alongside the head sommelier to deliver regular wine training to all front of house staff 

This is a full time position, working 5 days per week to include evening and weekend shifts.

WSET diploma preferred but not essential.

Living in south west London would be advantageous, you must also be able to prove your eligibility to work in the UK to apply for the role.

The starting salary for this position is between £34000 and £38000 per annum dependant upon experience.
