Finance Director - EMEA (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

We have a rare opportunity to lead a high performing Finance team in the role of Finance Director - EMEA. In this role you will direct, control and plan the financial activities and performance of TWE EMEA region. This role will provide the Financial strategy & support to the MD EMEA and Global CFO with commercial/financial assessments and information which will ensure the delivery of results, efficient planning and budgeting activities and a business that meets its short and long term aspirations. As part of the Finance community this role will also be responsible for developing capability and talent across Finance, driving efficiency of processes and systems improvements.

What will you do as our Finance Director? 

Lead the EMEA Finance Function and as a business partner, provide sound commercial insight and guidance, ensuring delivery of plans, adherence to policies and procedures, and strong financial controls.

• Direct the region’s financial administrative activities and operational procedures to ensure the company’s financial records are accurately recorded and reported.

  • Ensure necessary control activities are in place through working in conjunction with the GBS teams across OTC, RTR and P2P. This will enable delivery of adequate of credit policy, cash flow and investment policies, costing and expense control, audits, administration of contracts, insurance arrangements and property administration relating to the region and in line with Group policies and procedures

• Provide financial information and insight to other management to ensure a common understanding and alignment; to enable timely and effective decision making and delivery of TWE plans.
  • Lead the preparation of Forecasts, Budgets and Strategic Plans. Ensure forecast accuracy and contingency plans to deliver TWE strategies and targets.
  • Take responsibility performance, achievement of targets and budgets, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate investment proposals and provide financial status of operational projects to limit exposure and maximise potential return

• Provide input into the design, implementation and monitoring of finance and operational systems, ensuring standardisation, resource optimisation and solutions that drive efficiency and enable ease of doing business.
• Evaluate the financial aspects of proposed acquisitions, investments, mergers or the sale of asset or businesses relevant to the region and make recommendation
• Represent the organisation in dealings with the organisation’s auditors, bankers, legal advisors, major clients and others as required
• Control the selection, succession and development of EMEA Finance staff, establish lines of control and effectively delegate responsibilities to subordinate staff
• Manage Finance Team and develop talent and succession planning

To be our next Financial Manager you will have:

• Degree qualified (Finance)
• Post Graduate qualifications in Accounting/ Finance/ Business Management
• MBA advantageous
• Demonstrated on-going learning
• Established as a senior finance/ general manager
• Proven senior leadership across multiple geographies/ cultures and large-scale finance teams
• Significant experience in commercial/ finance functions in FMCG organisations
• Strong analytical, planning and project management skills
• Demonstrated ability to organise, develop and lead world-class finance teams
• Demonstrated business acumen, and ideally exposure across a wide range of industries
• Proven people leadership skills and experience
• Highly developed written and verbal communications skills
• Relevant international experience
