Hencote est. 2015 is dedicated to producing quality sparkling and still wine from our 6.5 hectare vineyard and is seeking an Assistant Vineyard Manager to join our small, dynamic team in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
Ideal candidates requirements and responsibilities:
- A qualification in viticulture and multiple years vineyard experience;
- Knowledge of how to carry out routine vineyard tasks relating to canopy management and winter pruning;
- Experience using and maintaining vineyard tractors and machinery;
- The ability to carry out data collection and analysis on matters such as yield estimates, fruit ripeness, disease monitoring and weather data analysis;
- An organised approach to work, flexibility with working hours and the ability to work well and take direction within a team; and
- Knowledge and passion to contribute new ideas about viticulture to improve efficiency and ecological sustainability.
Salary: Around £25,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience
