KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER – DISTILLING SECTOR (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Boortmalt, the leading global maltster, are looking for an ambitious individual to take up the exciting new position of Key Account Manager to look after their distilling customers across Scotland. This role will suit an individual with technical distilling skills/knowledge and with a commercial outlook and a keen interest in the distilling sector and the supply chain. This is a very exciting opportunity to play a key role in establishing, maintaining and developing sustainable commercial relationships with Boortmalt’s distilling customers.

You will need to develop and implement sales strategies, represent the company, and be respected by customers as a technical expert and as a “go-to” contact in respect of malting barley and wider issues. Also you will be working closely with internal stakeholders and will oversee the supply programme ensuring that supply commitments are fulfilled on time. Innovation for the future, and exploring new opportunities will also be key to this role.

Requirements:-

  • Educated to degree level (Brewing & Distilling/Agriculture/Food Science/Life Science related ideal)
  • Sound knowledge of distilling, the distilling market in Scotland, and ideally also some knowledge of malt production.
  • A strong communicator/influencer, negotiation skills helpful
  • Some Customer Relationship Management (CRM) experience preferred
  • Commercial or sales skills preferred but may not be essential
  • An appreciation of global agricultural and commodity markets
  • An understanding of logistics and supply chain
  • A “can do” attitude and ability to multitask
  • Close attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal/team-working skills
  • Sound decision making based on sound judgement
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines, in a sometimes pressurised environment
  • IT literacy
  • Driving licence and willingness to travel around Scotland
