We have an exciting opportunity available for Production Operatives to join our team based in Irlam, Manchester. This is a temporary contract but there is the potential to be made permanent after a period of time. The role is full time, working 42 hours per week on a 4 on/ 4 off pattern on our day shift (6am-6pm)

The Production Operative Role
As Production Operative you will be working on our lines, taking ownership of our products and delivering the best quality to all our customers.
The role of Production Operative requires reliable, proactive, self-motivated individuals. Reporting to both the Shift Manager and Shift Co-Coordinator, you will become part of a team ensuring the productive and efficient running of lines in Hall A. Our Production Operatives work as part of a close-knit team and sees individuals taking responsibility for various processes within the manufacturing environment. As such, training will be provided where necessary.
Key responsibilities as our Production Operative will include:
- To be proficient in the operation of all machinery on all lines
- To carry out thorough and accurate risk assessments as and when required
- In conjunction with the engineers carry out accurate and timely machine changeovers
- To liaise and work with the Engineering department regarding changeovers, line defects and machine faults
- To ensure all documentation and record systems are maintained to high standards daily in accordance with ISO 9001:2000
- To carry out on line Quality Control checks to ensure product is bottled to the highest possible quality standards and complies with all Customs & Excise trading standards requirements
- To ensure packaging materials are in place and meet specification for all production runs
- To maintain high standards of department hygiene in accordance with the expectations of a food manufacturing environment
Skills required as our Production Operative:
- Able to communicate at all levels
- Able to maintain a high level of discipline associated with the daily compliance of hygiene standards and the safe operation of factory equipment
- Computer Knowledge: PC/IT skills sufficient to meet the operational requirements
- Good general education - G.C.S.E as a minimum
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Filling experience is desirable but not essential
- Experience of good manufacturing practice and modern manufacturing techniques to enhance manufacturing performance is desirable
