An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Jascots as Supply Chain Manager. We are an award-winning company specialising in supplying exceptional wine to the UK on-trade. We are famous for our fantastic service and award winning wines, a hard won reputation that owes much to our purchasing team. We are looking for an analytical, organised and communicative Supply Chain professional to help drive forward growth. This is a fantastic opportunity to optimise supply of wines from across the world for an exciting, dynamic on-trade client base of leading restaurants, caterers and hotels. This will include end-to-end inventory management, collaboration with suppliers, shippers and bottlers to maximise value and create a sustainable competitive advantage.
You will report to the Purchasing & Channel Strategy Director and be part of a team of 6 who work across buying and supply chain to source product, strengthen our range and buy for less whilst reducing risk and sustaining availability. You will also work in close partnership with the sales and marketing teams, collaborating with them to ensure successful outcomes. The purchasing team have decades of trade experience between them and include two WSET Diploma graduates. For the right candidate this role offers incremental responsibility, reward and recognition with progression to Head of Supply Chain in the mid-term.
Your main responsibilities:
- Ensure the accuracy of our forecasting models and integrate improvements where necessary
- Manage the performance of our freight forwarders, bottlers and bonded stock facilities
- Maintain stock levels in order to cost effectively service demand
- Compliance with QA/QC Safe & Legal policies
- Assist the integration of external systems used by our Freight Forwarders and Bonded Facilities with Merlin
Essential attributes:
- Naturally numerate, analytic and evidence based
- Great communicator and relationship manager
- Ability to manage several projects and work to tight deadlines
- Experience of responsibility for inventory management including forecast modelling skills
- Excellent and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel e.g. Macros and index match
- Experience in alcohol import/export issues such as customs & excise, currency and shipping
Desirable attributes:
- A Level maths or better (preferably stats)
- Have worked with Enterprise Resource Planning system e.g. SAP or merchandising e.g. JDA
- Knowledge of AWRS/EMCS
- HACCP experience
- Supply chain and environmental sustainability knowledge
- Negotiation skills
- Fluency in French (preferable), Italian and/or Spanish
- WSET Advanced (or equivalent)
- Full driving License (Valid in the UK)
