Davy’s Wine Merchants are looking to hire a self-motivated and sales-focused individual to work for one of London’s oldest independent, family owned wine merchants. Founded in 1870, Davy’s Wine Merchants sells to wholesale/on-trade businesses, private customers online (nationwide), locally via our wine shops and to fine wine ‘cellar’ customers for storage. This role is very much ‘hands-on’ involving sales with account management and support, administration and events tasks liaising with a wide range of stakeholders both within and outside of the Davy’s group. An ideal career step for someone with excellent office and organisational skills and previous experience (2 yrs +) of sales, administrative operations and events in a wine merchants.
Candidate key skills and job role:
- Proactive sales and account management (office based): customer service, telesales, e sales
- Occasional field sales support
- Event Co–ordination – trade tasting and wholesale events calendar and attending tastings and trade events in support of sales team
- Co-ordinate producer visits
- Assist in sending of e-shots with group marketing campaigns
- Compile monthly sales & marketing report
- Support co-ordination / production of various wine portfolios (on and off trade)
- Creation of simple posters, flyers and training materials (bespoke wine fact files) – layout, design, imagery
- Providing wine suggestions, food matches, tasting notes for customers as well as tasting sheets for events as required by sales team
- Order processing using Microsoft Navision, raising invoices, statements and credit control.
- Deliveries and logistics for wholesale department, organising, liaising, booking couriers
- Co-ordination and communication of regular sales incentives for on trade customers
- Management of Navision and CRM i.e. customer pricing, customer info, wholesale leads
- Overseeing account opening process to completion and managing contractual obligations
- Obtaining and coordinating quality tech sheet and tasting note databases for sales team, website and training purposes as well as creation of producer power point presentations
- A positive team player with a good sense of humour who can integrate with the wider team across departments and contribute to Company goals
Key Skills/Qualifications
- Experience of database management – Navision, Vintner, Maginus, Salesforce or similar
- Experience (2 years +) sales support at a wine merchants
- Advanced skills with MS Office (Word, Excel), including designing advanced spreadsheets, creating mail merge mailings
- WSET Level 3 or equivalent; confident writing tasting notes
- Excellent standard of literacy, some creative writing ability, content creation experience

Salary: From £25k, commensurate with experience, plus performance related bonus scheme, a generous team discount scheme and other benefits
