We are looking for someone to join our team working Full Time for 35 or 40 hours a week, plus some overtime.
The Winery is a long-established independent wine merchant based in a former Victorian pharmacy in Little Venice, London W9. We recently opened a second branch in Fulham. We import our entire range of wine and champagne ourselves. We travel constantly to find small growers in our specialist regions of France, Germany, Italy, Spain and California.
The Winery is a great place to experience every stage of the wine business from grower to customer.
The position involves everything that is required in running wine shops and importing wine. This involves helping and advising customers, answering and dealing with queries by phone and email. Banking. Keeping records up-to-date. Helping with our tastings on and off site. Liaising with growers and transporters.
Receiving and unloading pallets of wine and champagne etc, placing stock on shelves and downstairs into our cellars. You will need to be physically fit and able to carry 12 bottles of wine or champagne.
All our staff work in both shops.
Some deliveries – a full, clean driving licence is preferred.
Additional language(s) a bonus.
Good communication and people skills, flexibility, comfortable with computers (experience with Excel and Word) and, above all, a knowledge of and enthusiasm for wine are also required.
The salary is £10.75 per hour, plus commission. 35 hours per week £19,565 basic, 40 hours per week £22,360 basic.
