Head of Research (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our fine wine intelligence start-up.

 

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

Working directly with the CEO, the Head of Research will contribute to Wine Lister’s continued growth, following the launch of www.wine-lister.com in 2016, and the success of its consulting business.

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Head of Research will play a key role within WL's consulting practice, including in the following areas:

 

· Defining Scope: working with our consulting clients to understand their needs, and identifying and implementing the appropriate methods of research in order to provide insights and recommendations

· Proprietary Research: primary data sourcing, including via the creation, sending and response management of surveys

· Report Creation: using WL’s wealth of data to compose in-depth analysis on wines, producers, and appellations, in particular helping to grow and refine the scope of WL's consulting offering

· Business Development: interacting with and selling to existing and potential clients, including travel to wine regions and wine fairs

· Organisation: highly focused, methodical, and rigorous, with precise attention to detail

· Analytical Spirit: original thinker with an eye for presenting data in a meaningful and intuitive way

· Numeracy & Literacy: possessing an excellent grasp of figures and quantitative analysis, as well as exceptional communication skills

 

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

· Fine Wine Knowledge: a passion for wine and an understanding of the world's top crus and the fine wine market is essential; WSET Level 3 or higher will be an advantage

· Business acumen: an understanding of how business works, in particular winery businesses and the wine market; business degree required

· Consulting experience: prior work experience in the field of consulting

· Computer Skills: full proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular advanced Excel usage and PowerPoint presentation skills; working knowledge of SQL

· European Languages: fluent English required; French or Spanish desired; Spanish, German and Italian will be an advantage

 

£28,000-£32,000 dependent on experience
