We are looking to appoint a highly innovative and passionate individual to lead our wine and spirits education team. You will be commercially focussed and willing to push boundaries within the drinks industry in order to help influence the future success for both Berkmann Wine Cellars and our customers.
Prime Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for ensuring the delivery of inspirational and engaging training sessions that place the Education team and Berkmann Wine Cellars at the forefront of the recipients mind.
- Develop a strategic plan that ensures that the training department add value across the supply chain in both Brazil and the UK.
- Define metrics to be used to determine account suitability for training investment and return on investment once training has taken place.
- Close financial management of self and team to ensure that the education department adds more value than it costs.
- Monitor competitor training programmes to facilitate benchmarking.
- Manage the Education team ensuring that all have clear objectives, KPI’s and development plans
- Develop and implement a successful E-Learning experience
- Report back to your manager on a regular basis on individual and team objectives, highlighting in particular any areas of concern.
- Put together and present creative pitches that helps to ensure Berkmann stands out from our competitors
Skill and knowledge requirements
- Analytical and numerate with good attention to detail, able to complete a detailed training proposal for customers as well as interpret a Profit & Loss sheet and assimilate data quickly.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Cross functional project management experience.
- Management experience
- Passionate about education and customer engagement with an ability to convey enthusiasm.
- Structured planning ability to handle a high and complex workload without supervision.
- Committed to the company with a positive and highly motivated work ethos.
- Creative and entrepreneurial with the vision to seize and create opportunities
- WSET Diploma holder
- Experience of working with prestige wine and spirits
- WSET L2 and 3 accredited tutor
- Strong commercial wine knowledge
- Able to work flexibly including evenings and weekends where required
- Experience of developing an E-Learning experience
- Hold a full UK driving licence

Working Pattern - This role is 37.5 hours per week (9am – 5.30pm), Monday to Friday. Please note that it is expected that the successful candidate will work the hours necessary to fulfil the requirements of the job.
