Group Stock Analyst (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Job Purpose

This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring Group Stock Analyst. This role will work within the Supply Chain department to deliver a high level of product availability across all locations, in line with budgetary expectations. This role will also have full responsibility for the day to day management of our 3PL bonded service provider and will drive the joint collaboration between both parties. 

The Group Stock Analyst will be responsible for selected UK suppliers across the wine and spirits portfolio in terms of product availability, stock replenishment and order placement. Within this you are responsible for the receipting of inbound purchase orders into bond and stock and HMRC duty reconciliation with our 3rd party bonded provider.  

Prime Responsibilities

  • Swiftly deal with all daily stock queries and issues with pro-active resolution
  • Be accountable for specific UK suppliers in terms of stock ordering
  • Accountable for all movements into bond by overseeing received GRN’s (Goods received notification) from our 3rd party bonded warehouse provider to ensure all information such as vintage, case size, alcohol percentage and quantity are being accurately receipted
  • Work efficiently with 3rd party providers and relevant suppliers
  • Identify the route cause if there is a reported stock difference and if there is missing stock then ensure appropriate processes are followed to recoup back the full purchase value of the wine
  • Accountable for completing three full book to book stock reconciliations a year with our 3rd party bonded warehouse provider
  • Develop and implement HMRC duty reconciliation with internal records to ensure they are aligned and correct
  • Look after all in bound stock, locating and counts for privately owned customer stock
  • Linked to the above, ensure that there are perpetual stock counts / checks in place with BWC reported stock versus what is with the 3rd party bonded provider
  • Regular communication with relevant export / import related authorities
  • Ensure regular communication with all relevant third party providers and attend monthly performance reviews when required
  • Work closely with colleagues in branches, the purchasing and supply team to implement processes to reduce over stocked and under stocked lines
  • Support and develop key excel spread sheets to support the wider supply chain team

Knowledge & Experience

  • To have held a similar role within a retail or drinks related industry – desirable
  • Good understanding of stock control procedures – essential
  • Strong attention to detail whilst managing and prioritising workloads without compromising on performance - essential
  • Excellent written & verbal communication – essential
  • Highly computer literate - essential
  • Exceptional knowledge of Excel to analyse data and build sophisticated spreadsheets – essential
  • Good knowledge of Power Point and Word – essential
  • Ability to make key decisions to support the smooth day to day running within the total supply chain team – essential
  • Work proactively with sound forward planning – essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills - essential

Working Pattern - This role is 37.5 hours per week (9am – 5.30pm), Monday to Friday. The applicant must be willing to travel locally and nationally if required, some weekend work may be required, particularly at key seasonal peaks of the year.
