Business Development Manager: Are you a great relationship builder, a self-starter, well-organised and a creative negotiator who is focused on delivering a fantastic customer experience? Do you want to work with a team whose passion for wine and sherry oozes from every part of it?

Gonzalez Byass UK is a fully owned subsidiary of Gonzalez Byass in Spain. We are proud to represent a number of leading wineries from around the world as well as our own portfolio of Spanish and Chilean wine.

We have a dedicated and passionate team of 27 people in the UK with strong sales in both the on and off trade sectors. We are seeking to recruit a like-minded team member with experience in our sector to work within the London trade. This role will have a specific account management focus across Spanish accounts and prestigious London Hotels and restaurants. In addition, the person with the right skills may have the opportunity of being the lead across the London team.


Main Purpose of role:

•          Build excellent commercial relationships within the designated customer base

•          Open new accounts and develop the distribution of the product portfolio in the London on-trade and independent sector.

•          Maximise sales and achieve annual budgets in volume, turnover and contribution

•          Work closely across the London team and coordinate plans to further grow the business in key strategic customers.


Experience and competencies:

•          Graduate calibre candidate

•          Educated to at least WSET level 3 but preferably to WSET Diploma level

•          Demonstrates a real passion for wine and sherry within the drinks industry

•          Experience in sales to restaurants and wine merchants in the wine and spirits trade

•          Good written and oral communication skills

•          Excellent relationship builder.

•          A self-starter that is well organized and able to manage own time and deliverables.

•          It would be desirable for candidates to have contacts in the London area within premium hotels, restaurants etc.
