Ditton Wine Traders are established Fine Wine wholesalers, buying and selling the world’s best wines, champagnes and spirits to a variety of clients all over the world. Based in SW18, we have a small and dedicated team, where due to growth and to our recent relocation to London various positions have become available.
The Operations & Logistics Manager is overall responsible to ensure that our Logistical and Administrative processes are of exceptionally high quality. It is of paramount importance in the fine wine trade that these processes are executed to a very high standard. The right candidate is able to deliver this quality. Reporting directly to the MD, this is an exciting role where you can really make a difference.
TASKS INCLUDE:
- Making sure all sales and purchases are processed in Sage.
- Bringing in and receiving stock into our warehouses. You liaise with Freight Forwarders and the buyers to find the optimum balance between speed and costs.
- Maintaining excellent relationships with our suppliers and logistics partners.
- Organising periodical stock checks, both administratively and physically and follow up on discrepancies.
- You keep an at all times up to date overview of inbound and outbound stock movements.
- You make sure that customers receive their stock correctly whilst finding the optimum balance between speed and costs.
- Handling the stock movements for our private reserves customers and providing periodic statements.
- Closely working together with our bookkeeper to submit Intrastat, EC Sales and monthly VAT returns.
- You are responsible for ensuring the best rates for the service level we require, doing occasional reviews and re-negotiating where necessary.
- Implementing and maintaining all the import and export related administrative and logistic functions and procedures.
- Helping with credit control and debt recovery
- Assisting the MD in general office management tasks.
EXPERIENCE:
- You ideally have experience in a similar role
- Experience with fine wine is not essential but it would be a big plus
- You have worked with bonded warehouses and freight forwarders
- You are familiar with Sage 50 Accounts (ledgers, multi-currency, tax codes, creating reports)

- Educational level: Bachelor/Master degree
