The Role
Working with the Vineyard Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of the annual viticulture programme. The role can be physically demanding and a certain level of fitness is required alongside the ability to work in all weather conditions.
The Person
The successful applicant should demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative or effectively as part of a team and be motivated to improve viticultural practices across the vineyard.
Skills Required
Good knowledge of the annual growth cycle within a vineyard.
Experience of all vineyard operations: pruning, tying down, shoot removal, canopy management, picking, cultivating, mowing, bud rubbing and managing a spray programme.
A competent level of tractor driving including the use of rear mounted spraying and mowing equipment.
All relevant PA1-3 spray qualifications although training will be given to the right candidate.
Full right to work in the UK.
UK Drivers Licence (Towing licence would also be preferable)
Excellent (English) verbal and written communication skills. Some computer skills may be required.
Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Happy to work long hours, including weekends and evenings when required and especially during harvest.
Ability to lift up to 20Kgs regularly.
