We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Sector Manager to join our team based in Irlam, Manchester. This is a permanent, full time position, working 37.5 hour per week, Monday-Friday.
Kingsland Drinks is a well-established premier independent UK supplier of wine and spirits specialising in providing a complete category solution.
The Contract Pack Business Sector Manager Role:
The primary purpose of the Contract Pack Business Sector Manager is to support the Head of Strategic Business Development in the delivery of the Contract Pack and Innovation business strategies. The Business Sector Manager will assume commercial responsibility for specific Contract Packing Accounts and the development of sustainable, profitable new business, through the management of ongoing business enquiries and the proactive identification and delivery of additional business streams.
The Business Sector Manager will also have responsibility for the delivery of specific business development projects, leading cross functional teams to meet agreed success criteria, through the business New Product Development process. The Business Sector Manager will also coordinate the team’s engagement with commercial projects, such as SAP, LEAN, Business planning, and ongoing reporting.
Key responsibilities as our Contract Pack Business Sector Manager will include:
- Managing the day-to-day business of specified Contract Pack Accounts, ensuring timely issue resolution and soliciting new business volume, where appropriate
- Assuming commercial responsibility for all aspects of budgeting, forecasting, sales, pricing, profitability, administration, and accurate reporting
- Developing relationships within the existing account base to include commercial, procurement, suppliers, and supply chain
- Mentoring, supporting, and developing your direct report (Account Manager) including conducting regular reviews, appraisals and developing a collaborative personal development plan
- Proactively seeking opportunities to develop new accounts, by managing external business enquiries, and identifying and approaching potential partners
- Actively communicating Kingsland’s capabilities and range of services, monitoring competitive activity and market insight to identify growth opportunities
- Coordinating the Contract Pack team’s engagement with commercial projects, such as SAP, LEAN, Business planning and ongoing reporting
- Delivering specified business development projects, leading cross functional teams to meet agreed success criteria, through the NPD process
- Leading the NPD Steering Group in the absence of the Head of Strategic Business Development
- The role also acts as primary cover for the Head of Strategic Business Development when s/he is out of the business
Skills required as our Contract Pack Business Sector Manager:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a sales, or customer-based environment
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an Account Management role
- Minimum 2 years' experience of managing people
- Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent
- PC literate (word, excel, PowerPoint, e-mail/outlook)
- Project management experience (Prince 2 knowledge would be an advantage)
- Previous FMCG market experience desirable but not essential
- Previous wines & spirits experience desirable but not essential
- Strong communication skills
- Proven team player
- Ability to work under pressure
- Self-motivated, organised and disciplined
- Full UK driving licence
- There is a requirement to travel to customer meetings and stay overnight from time to time
