Full time vineyard manager required to run beautiful 20-acre site on private estate in the South Downs National Park: 40,000 vines traditional champagne varietals

3 acres are established and producing fruit. Remaining 17 acres were planted in 2018 and 2019 respectively

As well as managing the vineyard, you will be required to oversee administration, liaising with support staff and reporting directly to the owner of the estate.

This is a wonderful vineyard which needs some attention & proper management to bring it back to its thriving self. A very exciting opportunity for somebody to really make their own, with great benefits for the right person.

Responsibilities include: 

·      Manual viticulture practices

·      Machinery operations and maintenance

·      Coordinating and managing seasonal staff   

·      Off season – maintenance work on the wider estate  

·      Managing and approving invoices, liaising with accounts to ensure payments are made 

·      Work with support staff on administrative tasks

Requirements:

·      Full driver’s license

·      Full right to work in UK

·      Tractor and machinery experience – operations and maintenance very important 

·      Safe use of pesticide certificates (PA1, PA3, PA6) preferable

·      Personal Licence Holder (not essential but preferable)

Attributes: 

·      Practical, hands on approach. Organised, committed and hard working.

·      Desire to be involved in all aspects of the grape growing business

·      Ability to work alongside team of household staff – manger, groundmen etc. to liaise efficiently with the owner and external suppliers.
