Vacancy for Full Time Winemaker

Exton Park Vineyard is a single-estate English Sparkling Wine producer located in the heart of the famous South Downs National Park, just outside Winchester. We are one of the pioneers of the new Non-Vintage philosophy, with the aim of producing sparkling wines that have a distinctive style and consistent quality; wines that express our unique terroir in every single bottle.

This is an exciting time for Exton Park; we have recently planted a further 2 hectares, bringing  the vineyard to 60 acres, we have extended our on-site winery and are enlarging our promotional building.

Following this expansion we are now looking to recruit a full time winemaker, reporting directly to Corinne Seely, the Head Winemaker, with an ideal commencement date of 1st September 2019.

Job tasks and responsibilities to include:

- Grape maturity control before harvest

- Assist in supervising all day to day cellar operations, including harvest, bulk wine, barrels,

- 1st analyses

- Preparation for blending, tartaric stabilisation and filtration

- Bottling

- Disgorgments

- Assist in educational tastings and tours of the facility, when needed.

- Prepare work-orders, assist in data management

 

Person specification to include:

- Experience of 5 plus years in a winery is essential with at least 2 years as a qualified winemaker, (preferably in sparkling wines but not mandatory).

- Proficiency certificate for forklift operation

- English spoken essential
