A rare opportunity to join one of England’s leading sparkling wine producers.
Hattingley Valley has been producing award-winning sparkling wine since 2010, having planted its first vineyard in 2008. The heart of the wine comes from our 23ha of vineyards here in Hampshire where we carefully manage 2 distinct vineyard sites about 30 minutes apart. Growing the classic sparkling varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier we also have small parcels of Bacchus, Pinot Noir Precoce and Pinot Gris.
We are looking for a new vineyard manager to take us to the next level of efficiency, productivity and quality.
Reporting to the Head Winemaker, the right candidate will have an enthusiasm for cool climate viticulture along with a desire to meet the unique challenges that our climate brings.
Managing a small team of dedicated vineyard staff, the role also requires a close working relationship with our contract labour suppliers and the winery and office teams.
Whilst the challenges are huge, the rewards can be satisfying with our wines consistently winning gold medals and trophies at international competitions.
There is also the opportunity to be involved with our third party vineyard clients who supply us with fruit on a long term basis.
Essential Skills:

Experience in managing cool climate vineyards

Ability to work under pressure when weather looms; a flexible approach to working hours during the growing season is essential
