Position: Cellarhand
Reports to: Head Winemaker & Winemaker
An exciting and permanent role to assist the Winemakers in the creation of the finest English sparkling wines at Hattingley Valley. A young, rapidly growing wine business, Hattingley Valley is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and organised individual to support the Winemakers in a range of responsibilities. This role will require flexibility and will allow the candidate to obtain wide-ranging skills and hands-on experience.
Ideally a recent graduate looking to evolve within the growing English wine industry and/or develop skills within the wine trade.
· General winery operations
· Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the winery
· Assisting the winemakers with harvest, pressing, additions, blending, filtering, bottling, riddling and disgorging
· Working with the sales team to label and pack wine to fulfil orders
· Assist with events and promotional activities as required
· Long hours are a prerequisite at harvest (October) and bottling
· FdSc or BSc in Viticulture & Oenology or equivalent, preferred but not essential
· WSET qualifications an advantage
· More importantly, a passion for wine and English wine in particular
· Full Clean UK Driving Licence
· Ability to lift 25kgs, climb ladders and stand for long periods essential
· French as a second or additional language would be an advantage
· Basic computer skills an advantage
· Forklift, trailer and telehandler Licences a bonus; being prepared to undertake training essential

Salary will depend on experience, ranging from £16-18K per annum. This is a full-time permanent role based in Hampshire.
