UK Wine Producers is the official national body representing the wine production industry in England and Wales. This sector is at a key stage in its development: it is experiencing rapid growth and produces high-quality products for which there is a strong market. This is a unique opportunity for an executive to take on a central role within this exciting industry.
The CEO will head up the administration, marketing and finance team reporting to our Chairman. With responsibility for driving forward new initiatives, developing communication and cooperation with government and other outside bodies, and furthering the vision and strategy of this increasingly high profile industry. The CEO will work towards the following goals:
· Provide a strong and financially secure national body with a clear vision and strategy for the whole of the English and Welsh wine production industry
· Support a dynamic, professional, English and Welsh wine production industry with a sustainable future
· Gain recognition and support for the English and Welsh wine industry from the wine-trade, Government and consumers, both in the UK and abroad.
The successful candidate would need the following attributes:
· A great enthusiasm for wine and a strong commitment to the English & Welsh wine industry
· Outstanding managerial, leadership and interpersonal skills
· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
· Successful experience in business and financial administration.
The following experience would be an advantage:
· Management of a professional association
· Lobbying government departments
· Liaising with PR representatives and the press
· Fund-raising.
Salary will be dependent on experience
