Company Background
The Port of Leith Distillery is a major new whisky distillery and tourism landmark planned for a site adjacent to the Royal Yacht Britannia in Edinburgh. Founded by two friends from Edinburgh, the 40m tall structure will become a modern face for Scotch Whisky, and bring a distinctive approach to spirit production.
Five years after the idea was first conceived, the planning application for the distillery is now approved and we will be commencing construction very shortly. A satellite distillery (The Tower Street Stillhouse) is now operational nearby in Leith. From here we produce our Lind & Lime Gin and distribute our sherry.
The role
With our sherry already in the market, we launched our Lind & Lime Gin in November 2018. The reaction has surpassed our expectations. Having established initial distribution across the UK, we need someone to come on board to nurture and grow our customer base.
Hiring our first sales person is a big deal for us – you will be employee #5 in the company, representing us to trade and private customers across the UK. You will be joining us at the beginning of a very long journey. We’re not necessarily looking for the finished article – we’re looking for someone with the ambition, personability and self-starter energy to fit into our small group and become a founding member of the Port of Leith Distillery team.
Working for a start-up means you might be delivering cases around Edinburgh one day and hosting a trade tasting the next. It means using your own imagination and initiative, taking ownership of your part of the business. It means grabbing an opportunity that will be as big as you can make it.
For our part, we can offer you a competitive package, the opportunity to own shares in our business, a fun and supportive environment and, for now, a desk in an orange shed.
