The Role

 

We are looking for a hugely talented, ambitious and forward-thinking winemaker to join our team.

 

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity not only to fulfil large-scale blends in collaboration with some of the most exciting wine buyers in the UK, but also to create a range of small volume, still and sparkling wines that not only lead, but define the UK’s potential at the new frontier of winemaking. This will be achieved in partnership with some of the UK’s best vineyard estates.

 

You will also be expected to help lead the next phase of infrastructure planning and investment to support these growth plans.

 

Additionally, due to the nature of our portfolio of products, Lyme Bay can also offer the successful applicant the opportunity to help develop some of the most innovative drinks available in the UK. Like the English wine, our only stipulation is that they must define the potential in their respective categories.

 

  • You will need to be located, or able to relocate near to the winery in East Devon

  • You will be able to demonstrate a history of leading winemaking teams in at least two estates, while simultaneously demonstrating experience in at least 10 vintages from both northern and southern hemispheres

  • You will thrive in a fast-paced team environment

  • You will have experience managing harvests of more than 300 tonnes, maintaining immaculate records and a motivated team

  • You will demonstrate experience in both planning and executing medium to long-term infrastructure investments in line with commercial aims

  • Your passion will be rooted in creating expressive and immaculately balanced still and sparkling wines, reflecting discerning consumer tastes at multiple price points

  • You will enjoy devising and delivering wines in collaboration with the commercial team and the overall business objectives

  • You will thrive within a commercial setting: actively participating in industry events on behalf of Lyme Bay and becoming well known amongst key industry opinion formers
