The company and role: Vinescapes Services Ltd. provides premium Vineyard Establishment and Management services across England. We are recruiting an Operations Manager to join our dynamic business and help us deliver service excellence to our clients. Role time: Full-Time.

Reporting to: Managing Director.

Location: The role is based in Dorking, Surrey, but will involve working in various locations across England.

Salary: Dependent on experience and skills.

Role requirements:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for vineyard establishment and aspects of vineyard management across multiple projects, ensuring the highest levels of quality and customer care are achieved. They will play a critical role in developing our vineyard service provision and supporting our expanding team with the smooth running of their portfolios. The ideal candidate will have a proven operations experience, project management skills, viticulture understanding, excellent client management ability and good knowledge of Health & Safety processes.

The successful candidate will be expected to actively support all our staff and clients in this goal.

Responsibilities:

·      Building and maintaining strong client relationships.

·      Vineyard establishment project manager, including but not limited to:

o   Working with our senior consultants and viticulturists to determine viticulture suitability and to determine appropriate mixes of varietal, clone, and rootstocks for vineyards.

o   Managing soil sampling and analysis programmes and oversight or organisation of clients and contractors to implement soil and site amelioration plans.

o   Vineyard material recommendations, calculations, and procurement.

o   Logistics, operations, and quality control of all vineyard establishment areas including planting, rods and tubes and trellis installation.

o   The installation of vineyard monitoring equipment.

·      Supporting our Managing Director to ensure the smooth running of client portfolios including team organisation.

·      Providing high-level services to multiple clients.

·      Providing other vineyard and business support as required. 

·      Cross-selling of Vinescapes other products and services. 

·      Health & Safety procedure implementation.

 

Skills & experience: 

·      Very strong operations and management experience is required.

·      Either a viticulture degree or 5 years vineyard management experience. 

·      Excellent project management skills and a dynamic and flexible approach to working across multiple projects is essential.

·      Skilled in client relationship development and managing staff. Candidates must be self-starters who can think, and act, autonomously but also be team players in a small but fast-growing business. 

·      Candidates must be reliable, punctual, polite, and diligent. 

·      Excellent communication skills are critical, and candidates must have the ability to take instructions and perform tasks to a high standard. 

·      Excellent IT skills are required.

·      Due to the nature of the role, physical health and fitness is important. 

·      A full clean driving licence and the right to work in the UK is essential.
