We are currently seeking an experienced Shop/Bar Manger to join our team at our Bristol shop & bar.
The position on offer is a varied role at our dual purpose business. We are a wine shop/deli during the day that we flip into a wine bar in the evenings so we are looking for someone to lead our management team on both bar and shop shifts.
- Excellent communication and engaging customer service skills together with wine retail experience.
- We have a focus on organics/biodynamics/sustainability so a broad understanding of these procedures and this style of wine will be beneficial
- A strong passion for wine and the ability to discuss in depth and advise on of wine purchases at all levels (minimum WSET level 3 or equivalent knowledge)
- A solid understanding and passion for all things cheese and charcuterie
- Hospitality management experience
- Strong ability to build rapport with local customers and advise on wine, spirits and specialist beer purchases at all levels.
- A high level of integrity, reliability and trustworthiness together with a positive, driven and self-motivating attitude.
- Well organised with good attention to detail and energetic.
- Ability to grow the business to the next level working with the owner to really push things forward and on to the next level
- A proven history of curating dynamic wine lists and wine buying or assisting with
- A high level of integrity, reliability and flexibility with a warm and friendly manner
- A smart and professional image and attitude, as well as a sense of humour are essential
This is the ideal position for either an experienced Assistant Manager to progress to their first Manager position, or for a current Store Manager in a hospitality or retail business looking to further their career in the wine trade by getting a good grounding in the independent sector. Salary will commensurate with experience and be in line with similar positions nationally. Participation in the company pension scheme is offered.
