About the role

We have a opportunity for a Packaging Operative to join our Operations Team at The Park site close to the M5 near Bristol. You will be a key member of a multi disciplined team to operate a high performing production line with full ownership and accountability for product quality and line performance. To assist in achieving continuous performance improvements and to actively participate in the lean culture and operational philosophy.

About the location

The Park  is the largest bottling plant in the Northern Hemisphere. In 2018 we are delighted to be the Winners of the Manufacturer of the Year award at The Manufacturer MX Awards.  Over 500 of our 1700 staff across the world are based here, and enjoy the benefits of a fantastic onsite subsidised canteen, gym, exercise classes, staff wine shop and free parking. In addition there is a bus service from Bristol City Centre and St Andrews train station is nearby.

About the role – Key Accountabilities
  • Fully accountable within a defined team for the production line but also across the whole of production and the site
  • To operate assigned equipment and plant ensuring optimum line performance is achieved
  • Proactively operate within a lean philosophy ensuring continuous improvements across all areas of business processes are achieved
  • Fully involved in a self-reliant team, whilst delivering a positive contribution to our business
  • To work within the framework of the agreed team principles, fully supporting and working towards the achievement of the team objectives
  • Responsible for quality standards and testing of the product produced on the line ensuring optimum levels are achieved.  To fully support and assist in relation to all quality matters and testing
  • To identify and rectify root causes of the running faults within the machinery
  • To ensure that the critical machine settings are maintained and serviced, to continually improve line efficiency and improvements to plant and business processes
  • To ensure all levels of safety within the department are monitored and maintained to a high standard
  • To be competent and able to provide training of operational processes to both new and current employees
  • To be willing and able to assist and cover other teams or Operatives according to the needs of the business
  • Enter relevant data into business system interfaces (e.g. JDE, MIS, Red Prairie, etc)
  • To actively engage with Team Leader and other employees regarding SOP generation and review.

  • IT Systems: Relevant IT system knowledge
  • Lean Processes: Understanding of Lean Processes

Required experience is

  • Experience of an operational role with packaging machinery or similar

 
And these qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 (UK) in Manufacturing Operations
  • GCSE English or Maths equivalent
