Vintage Cellar Hand (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Bolney Wine Estate is seeking harvest cellar hands for the 2020 vintage.

Based near Haywards Heath, we are one of England's oldest wineries, and produce a range of still and sparkling wines for ourselves and selected clients. We anticipate a harvest of approximately 350 tonnes.

This is a full-time temporary harvest position, reporting to the winemaker. It is a varied role encompassing:

·         Grape receival and processing

·         Transfers and rackings

·         Inoculations, enrichments and other additions

·         Fermentation monitoring

·         Cap management

·         Maintaining cleanliness and order of the crushpad, press bay and winery

Experience with all the tasks above is preferred.

 

About you:

·         Have prior harvest experience

·         Able to lift up to 20kg

·         Willing to work long hours over the peak harvest period

·         Good literacy and numeracy skills with an eye for detail

·         Understand the importance of accurate reporting

·         Have the right to work in the UK

·         A forklift licence is desired, but not essential

 

Salary based on experience
