At the Estate we welcome thousands of visitors a year for vineyard and winery tours and corporate events and to our on-site café, bar & restaurant.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE                                    Vineyard Operative

 

LOCATION                          Bolney Wine Estate, Foxhole Lane, West Sussex, RH17 5NB

REPORTS TO                      Vineyard Manager

 

RESPONSIBLE TO:            Sam Linter, Managing Director

 

DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

·         Machinery operations using several pieces of vineyard kit

·         Vineyard floor and canopy management

·         Working outside and alongside the Vineyard Manager

·         In the absence of the manager supervise contract workers / vineyard operations

·         Reporting to the Vineyard Manager

·         Winter pruning

·         Bud rubbing and general vineyard operations

·         General vineyard operations including trellis repairs, headland management

·         Pesticide spraying applications

·         Machinery operations – spraying canopy trimming

·         Routine machine maintenance / repairs as required

·         Driving a tractor and using machinery

·         Ability to be flexible for early start/late finish/weekend shifts

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Tertiary qualifications in viticulture or relevant experience

·         PA1 and PA3 spraying certificates - preferred

·         Tractor driving experience

·         A good understanding of vineyard machinery

·         A high level of Health and Safety awareness

·         Forklift qualifications

·         Computer literate with ability to collect and use data
