Arblaster and Clarke are a leading Wine Tours operator, part of the Specialist Journeys group of travel companies incorporating brands such as Andante Travels, Archaeological Tours, Action for Charity, Brightwater and more. Our expert-led holidays cover interests all over the world.
We now have a requirement for a skilled and insightful Product specialist, based at our Head Office in Whaddon, just South of Salisbury on the A36, within easy commuting distance of Salisbury, Southampton and surrounding areas.
Our product and customers are at the heart of everything we do. The ideal post holder will develop this specialised programme along commercial lines without losing its uniqueness.
The Role
Responsibilities:
• Owning and further developing our wine tours programme based on sound analysis of yield, customer data and feedback, market research, specialist knowledge and operational delivery.
• Constant revision and improvement of programmes and itineraries.
• Ownership of the customer holiday experience.
• Recruitment of suitably qualified freelance wine experts.
• Analysis of commercial performance of individual tours.
• Reviewing a variety of data for trends and insight
• Liaison with Operations, Contracting, Marketing and Finance teams.
• Conduct tutored wine tastings at various locations
The Candidate
Arblaster & Clarke has a reputation for providing first class innovative wine holidays and it is essential that applicants have the capability to uphold this.
• Experienced travel professional with background in product development.
• Commercially strong with ability to interrogate and amalgamate data from a variety of sources.
• Ability to think creatively and inspire customers with new product
• Customer focused perfectionist.
• Outgoing personality and keen to build relationships across the business.
• Good knowledge and personal interest in wines.
• WSET qualified
• Good knowledge and first-hand experience of the world’s leading wine regions
• Good contacts throughout the world’s wine regions
• The ability to speak French, Italian or Spanish fluently.
• A keen eye for detail
• Proactive, assertive with willingness to take responsibility.
• Good working knowledge of MS office and comfortable with IT systems
• The successful individual may be required to escort as a Wine Guide a few trips a year and therefore the ability to travel is required.
Hours of Work
09.00 – 17.00 Monday – Friday (half an hour for lunch) = 37.5/week
There are certain times of the year where additional work may be required to deliver according to business requirements.
