Job Description
Majestic Wines are the largest wine specialist in the UK with over 200 stores, as well as a very significant online presence, and megastores in France.
Following the merger between Naked Wines and Majestic, Rowan Gormley (Founder of Naked Wines and Chief Executive of the enlarged group), has set the wheels in motion of transforming the business into a new kind of retailer – a retailer that is loved by customers, loved by suppliers and loved by shareholders.
This transformation is brought to life by our talented team at the Support Centre, Watford. Headed up by John Colley, MD of Retail, the Support Centre houses all departments working behind the scenes such as Customer, People, IT, Transformation and Finance.
The Customer team are responsible for the marketing and ecommerce channels and this role is very focused on analysing the success of our direct email marketing campaigns and reporting this.
You will receive all the training that you need to perform the role though it will be particularly suited to candidates who either have some experience in this area or who have a natural affinity with numbers and analysis or a numeracy focused degree.
During the year there will be scope to really develop your analytical skills and to support and lead a number of projects in the wider Customer team.
The main aspect of the role is creating selections and outputting data for the direct mail campaigns along with the subsequent weekly reporting. You will also support with email segmentation as well as the ongoing development of data and analytical and reporting capabilities within the Majestic Customer Team.
Responsibilities
Campaign Data
- Support with all aspects of the data selection and processing for our monthly Direct Mail campaigns from briefing and planning tests through to reporting
- Work to fixed deadlines with a high degree of precision and detail
- Build data selections on a monthly basis for Direct Mail campaigns, identifying appropriate audiences, applying segmentations & personalisation and implementing test groups in an accurate and timely manner
- Support the email manager with ad-hoc data requests and assistance with segmentation and targeting
- Support the Analytics Manager to create and maintain segments in the data warehouse that improve our ability to target the right customers, with the right message, at the right time
Reporting and analysis
- After suitable training you will manage weekly reporting on campaign performance and support ad-hoc requests for data and analysis
- Create simple tools and dashboards to enable fair evaluation of our marketing tests
- Create simple tools and dashboards that monitor our campaign and channel effectiveness and efficiency in driving lifetime value and loyalty; make recommendations on marketing expenditure and mix
- Support the Analytics Manager to drive strategic decisions on marketing activities, maximizing customer lifetime value and improving our capabilities to deliver more personalised and relevant marketing communications
KPIs: Frequency of repeat & loyal customers, attrition, return on marketing investment
Knowledge/Skills
- Strong attention to detail, analytically rigorous approach and ability to meet fixed deadlines
- Highly numerate and data literate with good Excel skills that can be further developed
- Experience with SQL, macros and tableau beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided
- Experience in marketing, multichannel retailing advantageous but not essential
