An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Manager to join G&J Distiller, a driven and dynamic Quintessential Brands company with a rich and prestigious production heritage within the spirits industry.
Responsibilities What’s the Quality Assurance Manager role about?
The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for the quality of all products despatched from site ensuring they meet our high standards in terms of adherence to specifications and legal compliance including HACCP.
You will monitor and enhance our quality inspection regimes identifying and resolving any potential areas of improvement by constantly risk assessing our processes to drive corrective actions or increased inspection.
A key component will be to identify, propose and implement methods of moving from a post process inspection reliance toward a proactive quality assurance methodology.
Key Responsibilities of our Quality Assurance Manager?
- Be responsible for the development, maintenance and application of department operating procedures;
- Ensure internal functions are clear, and fully aligned, on requirements to meet external standards and ensure the plant is audit ready;
- Ensure quality interface between G&JD and other QB companies;
- Develop and mentor all personnel within the department to develop a flexible resource with a sound understanding of the manufacturing process, laboratory testing regimes and quality control procedures;
- Create and maintain all technical documentation required by our customers for legal compliance;
- Own HACCP, TACCP and VACCP and driver of best in class site food safety standards;
- Lead contact for external audit bodies and owner of internal audit systems;
- Drive culture change from reactive to proactive quality assurance methodology – developing in conjunction with stakeholders’ failsafe systems of control;
- Develop and report monthly KPI's (identifying & recommending opportunities for improvement).
Skills required The ideal candidate will have:
- Full understanding of BRC standards, auditing, HACCP, TACCP and VACCP;
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy;
- Highly competent and efficient administrator with strong organisational capability and excellent PC skills;
- A clear logical thinker with good analytical, numeracy, and proven problem solving skills;
- Ability to form strong supplier / customer relations;
- Effective communicator across varying levels and functions (internally and externally);
- Self-motivated with proven ability to meet tight deadlines;
- Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills;
- Demonstrates a 'can do approach’ with a proactive and flexible attitude to work.
Educational requirements Educated to a degree level or equivalent.
