National Account Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Overview

National Account Manager reporting to the Senior National Account Manager who has full P & L responsibility for their customer base, achieving against a profit, sales and volume budget. Management of all aspects of this account you are accountable in ensuring our customer gets the best possible service from Bibendum PLB. The role involves a committed attitude and travel throughout the UK and overseas.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing our business with this customer
  • Cross functional working and building strong internal / external relationships across the business
  • Developing an account plan to maximise profit for PLB and delivering the strategy in line with the customers’ priorities
  • Regular store visits and audits to ensure you have an in depth knowledge of your customer’s range, promo mechanics, space etc.
  • Building on the current core listings to maximise feature, display and promotional execution to increase rate of sale
  • Promotional proposal and review
  • Reviewing weekly logistics reports to monitor stocks/sales of all lines and flag issues / corrective actions to customer
  • Management of pricing for loading internally and robust accrual management
  • Monthly tracking of P&L to include timely resolution of pricing queries & invoices
  • Achieve the budgeted volume, revenue and margins for your respective accounts and total PLB
  • Deliver on supplier and branded objectives within your accounts
  • Identify opportunities for PLB & the customer by analysing global market pricing & trends
  • Quality management: working with the buying & technical team to ensure a quality improvement plan is in place for all of the products you supply to your customer. This will include quarterly quality tastings, benchmark tastings and monitoring complaints
  • Preparing and following up on quotes/samples. Both customer and supplier facing with a robust audit trail
  • Build and continuously develop customer & supplier relationships
  • Navigating key internal portals and adhering to processes, appreciating best practice across the sales team and recommending ongoing improvements
  • Overseeing new product launches
