Oddbins is a major – and proudly quirky – wine merchant that has held a warmly-regarded place on the UK’s high streets since 1963. Oddbins is part of European Food Brokers, one of the largest drinks distributors in Europe. This is an exciting time for Oddbins, which currently has 47 high performing stores across the UK, and is growing the business both on the high street and online.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Branch Manager to head up the team at Oddbins’ Bruntsfield branch, in Edinburgh. The branch has a loyal customer base and the surrounding area is affluent with massive scope to grow the local customer base. This position would suit motivated, ambitious individuals with good interpersonal skills, who love wine and can use flare and creativity to grow this already thriving branch. 

The Role:

Meet sales and profit targets, demonstrate consistently high levels of commercial and professional standards, coach and develop staff, control all stock, cash and expenditure, promote good customer relations.

Key responsibilities:

-        Promote good customer relations by offering personal and professional service

-        Propose ideas to maximise sales opportunities

-        Maintain a high level of merchandising

-        Be fully aware of and understand the branch budgets and targets

-        Account for all stock charged to the branch

-        Complete branch administration

-        Train and develop all staff

The ideal candidate will have:

-        Excellent organisational skills

-        A positive ‘can do’ attitude

-        The ability to work under pressure

-        A keen eye for merchandising and marketing opportunities

-        WSET Intermediate and working towards their Advanced Certificate
