​Here at the Combermere Arms, we’re looking for a Trainee Assistant Manager to support the management team in many aspects of the day to day running of the pub.
Situated at Burleydam just outside Whitchurch, the Combermere Arms has a long and proud history as a pub – it dates from the 1540’s and is a classic country inn with a fantastic reputation for good food. The bar is at the heart of the building with six cask ales on tap, a back shelf crammed with Malts and an extensive wine list.
Our menu has a spine of freshly prepared, classic British dishes, complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world – in other words, modern British cookery. Our passion lies in finding quality ingredients and preparing, cooking and presenting them in a modern but unpretentious way.
The Trainee Assistant Manager role will be very hands-on and extremely varied encompassing people management, food and drink, customer service, pub maintenance and day to day pub administration.
Being a Trainee Assistant Manager is an ideal opportunity to gain knowledge and experience of every aspect of pub life. We see our trainee managers as being on the first step on the pub management career ladder and we always try to promote from within when we can.
You’ll need to be a real foodie; have a passion for decent beer and wine; enjoy looking after others and help build and direct a happy crew.
