International Business Development Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Overall Purpose:

Nyetimber is an award winning sparkling wine and currently the market leader within the category. A true luxury brand, we are now seeking to further our expansion actively into International markets.

In this senior position, the candidate is part of the International team and will report directly to the HOS.  This role will be responsible for building and establishing new distribution, positioning and increasing brand awareness and listings across target markets all over the world. The candidate will need to have strong entrepreneurial skills, be adept at building cross-cultural relationships and have the ability to commit to extensive travel (up to 70%).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Activities

  • Working with the HOS to lead the luxury brand positioning, development and sales of Nyetimber in key International markets.
  • Analyse and monitor each market and prepare a business plan to identify and develop new sales opportunities.
  • Drive new distribution for the Nyetimber range, both by the glass and by the bottle in each market.
  • Select where necessary and develop strong relationships with distributors, retailers and the premium On-Trade.
  • Implement sales and distribution plans in line with the to be set priorities.
  • Ensure brand led listing status and appropriate brand representation is implemented.
  • Being involved with marketing efforts alongside the International Brand Manager and support this where necessary.
  • Provide market intelligence and competitor activity reports.
  • Work with the supply chain and operations team to deliver the most effective distribution channel.
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador for Nyetimber, externally representing and building our brand.

Management & Reporting:

  • Management of budgets and commercial targets.
  • Regular reporting to HOS of actions and key achievements.
  • Maintain accurate database of Nyetimber connections to be adopted into a central CRM database (when implemented).

Desired Candidate Attributes and Experience:

  • UK based, with significant worldwide travel required (up to 70%).
  • 2-3 years of experience
  • Commercial Wine sales experience.
  • Strong On-Trade background.
  • Strong Luxury brand-building experience.
  • Good communicator with the ability to identify and build long-term relationships.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical and numerate.
  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to manage and achieve sales independently and proactively.
  • Ability to speak Spanish (not a necessity but would be nice) and English.
  • Cross-cultural awareness.
  • Understanding of the complexity of supply chain activities and have the ability to determine the most appropriate distribution in key hotspots.

Compensation:
