IWSC Group is a specialised wine and spirits based events company based in the UK and USA. The company owns the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC), the world’s oldest and most prestigious wine and spirits competition.
An opportunity has arisen to join the IWSC as Tasting Coordinator. This is part of the Operations Team who maintain a permanent year-round presence in dedicated offices running the IWSC and The Beer Awards tastings. This is the first point of contact for entrants to these events and the team are responsible for the organisation and running of these awards.
Reporting to the Head of Operations and working with the Senior Tasting Manager, the role of Tasting Coordinator is to support the planning and executing of IWSC and The Beer Awards tasting and judging; particularly any overseas events.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
· WSET Diploma Graduate or Student with the ability to apply and increase regional knowledge of wines and spirits.
· Knowledge and ability to learn about wine, spirits and beer.
· Ability to cope with tight deadlines and work under pressure with good priority setting and time management.
· Ability to communicate (written and verbal) to a wide range of stakeholders both nationally and internationally.
· Self-motivated with the ability to be a valued team member.
· Computer Literacy with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new website and data inputting programmes.
· General office and administration skills.
· Not be afraid to get ‘hands dirty’ and help with bringing in deliveries and setting up events.
· Ability to speak a second European language an advantage.
