Enotria&Coe is the UK’s leading premium wine and spirits distributor, with sales of over 30m bottles per annum to a huge range of customers across the country and internationally. The company in its current state was formed in Feb 2016 when Enotria (a premium wine distributor) purchased and merged with Coe Vintners (a premium spirits wholesaler). Under its current Private Equity ownership the business has undergone a significant transformation over the last three years and has been investing heavily in new systems and people.

E&C sells 2,500 SKUs of wines and spirits to about 4,000 independent on-trade customers (restaurants, gastro pubs, bars, etc.) as well as many major pub and restaurant chains and all the major supermarkets and wine shops.

As we expand we have an opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated person to join our Spirits Buying team on a 6 month fixed-term contract. Ideally we are looking for someone to start immediately.

The Buying Administrator is responsible for supporting the Spirits & Composite Buying team with reporting, price maintenance, setting up new items, special projects and liaising with a 70-strong sales force and 200-strong supplier base. 

The main duties of the role are:

• Obtaining and verifying detailed product specifications and setting up new items accordingly

• Accountable for product and supplier data accuracy, including background information on suppliers, images, labels, technical specifications and tasting notes

• Working with the Demand Planning team in coordinating label, and vintage changes or any other information required by the Demand Planning and Warehouse teams

• Maintaining, accruing and claiming supplier support payments, based on sales out to customers

• Liaising with internal departments and suppliers to resolve day-to-day issues, including pricing and specification queries

• Supporting the Sales Team with product and pricing queries

• Producing supplier volume reports on a monthly basis

• Managing Customer Supplier Retros

• Monitoring target costs versus actual costs

• Supporting with the organisation of events, tastings etc

• Providing administrative support for special projects

The ideal candidate will be very organised and efficient, with excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and highly proficient with Microsoft Excel. The ability to consistently deliver multiple tasks to deadlines is essential, as is the ability to work cross-functionally with a range of internal departments. Experience working with spirits, soft drinks, beers and/or ciders would be very beneficial.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

• Educated to A-level standard as a minimum, with higher level GCSE’s in English, Science and Mathematics
• Experience working in a similar administrative function is very desirable
• Strong numeracy skills
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Experience using Microsoft Navision or a comparable Management Information System is desirable
• Very good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work cross-functionally and on multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience working in the on or off-trade alcohol industry is desirable, as is a passion for spirits
