Accounts Assistant - Accounts Payable (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Following the reorganisation of staff roles, Broadland Wineries Ltd is looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to support the Finance team to meet customer requirements.

Reporting to: Financial Controller

Main Purpose: The provision of effective Accounts Payable functions to all departments within the business.

Place of Work: Cawston

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours a week (Part-time Considered)

Daily duties / Requirements:

Purchase Ledger

  • Purchase order matching of suppliers invoices in SAGE
  • Input invoices into SAGE 1000
  • Maintain supplier database in SAGE - New accounts & amendments
  • Raise Price/Qty/Goods queries for SAGE PO’S with managers and liaise with them as appropriate to gain authorisation of invoices for payment
  • Obtain authorisation of non PO matched invoices in a timely manner
  • Produce suggested payment runs - GBP and all foreign suppliers
  • Produce end of month and mid-month supplier payments for BACS and cheque payment as appropriate and post to purchase ledger
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements to ledger/creditors ledger to general ledger/Barclaycard
  • Produce month/year end reports
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal customers to ensure bona fide debts of the company are paid in a timely manner
  • Filing and general housekeeping of purchase ledger invoices and correspondence
  • Expense journals are posted to the ledger
  • Payment of expenses via BACS & collation of P11D information

General Accounting duties

  • Production of utility graphs
  • Completion of some government stat’s as and when required

Key Skills/Competencies required:

  • Candidates must be experienced and have a strong sense of customer focus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organised, ability to multi-task and to prioritise workload
  • Capable of working on own and using personal initiative
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of both internal and external customer relations
  • Positive thinker with ability to see areas for improvement and added value for the department.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel.
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience of SAGE is desirable but is not essential.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of the wine industry would be advantageous but is not essential.
