Supply Chain & Inventory Analyst (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Full Time

  Co-operative Group Limited

  Manchester, England

The Co-op is changing. Fast. We’ve gone on an incredible journey in 2016, changing how we look through rebranding, to our new membership scheme. We’ve gone back to being Co-op and we’re giving our customers more rewards than ever. And 2017 is going to bring a lot more change. Our supply chain team play a critical role in making sure our stores are always fully stocked. And that we always provide the most exciting and best offering to our customers. That’s why we’re recruiting another inventory and demand analyst. We take diversity and inclusion very seriously, and we want our colleagues to reflect the communities we serve.

In this role, you’ll focus on beers, spirits and wines. These are high value items. And good sales can significantly affect business performance. Your job is to manage our suppliers’ and to make sure that the demand for stock is always fulfilled in store. You’ll forecast where spikes of trade might occur and look into trends of previous sales. We’ll look for you to support new lines that are going into stores and work with other internal teams to deliver a great customer experience. Above all, how you manage our stock holding budget will prove critical for this role.

What you’ll do:

• place orders to meet forecast demands - including replenishment, promotions and specialist products

• maintain forecasts to reflect product trends within BWS

• manage supplier performance, introducing critical metrics and SLA’s where necessary and draft supplier improvement plans

• be responsible for a significant stock holding budget

• work closely with other internal teams

• support range events, including new promotions and lines going into stores

• become an expert and gather insight into the BWS market to better inform trend analysis

• get involved with various projects that have a real impact on the business

To get going quickly, you’ll need to have a really positive attitude. With such a diverse and changing business, how you approach and take on change will set you up for success. You’ll be able show examples of where you’ve previously worked in a cross function environment and how you’ve gone above your day job to get involved and deliver change projects. You’ll also have a thorough understanding of how commercial decisions can affect the end customer. Ideally, you’ll already have supply chain experience. And you’ll have forecasting and trend analysis too. But these two aren’t essential.

We’d love to hear from you if:

• you have a really positive attitude and always looking to make valuable contributions and continuously improve process

• you’re able to show how you’ve previously worked within a cross functional environment

• you’ve been involved and helped deliver continuous improvement

• you understand the impact of the customer and how decisions might affect them and their in-store experience

• you’ve previously worked within supply chain or have experience in forecasting trend analysis
