We are looking for a candidate to join our award-winning Wine Team.
As Wine Manager (Head Sommelier) of the group’s largest wine list; featuring approx. 300 wines by the bottle and 65 by the glass. You will be working alongside a team of 140 in a restaurant with a capacity of 220.
With unparalleled opportunities to taste the world’s greatest wines for one of London’s largest wine lists. As part of a wider wine team this role has a lot of buying responsibility and autonomy.
Hawskmoor’s Wine Managers attend multiple tastings and trips, alongside the group’s 10 other Wine Managers and is supported by Hawksmoor’s Head of Wine for the group.
The Wine Manager is responsible for:
- Education/Training: Inspiring and developing the restaurant (both BoH and FoH) team in their understanding of, and ability to sell and serve wine
- Management: Professional development of the Sommelier team
- Procurement: Curating and sourcing new and old world wines for our list
- Service: Having an active and high-level presence on the floor during services, working with team of FOH managers to drive customer service/experience and wine culture
- Commercials: Ensuring the list runs smoothly, both operationally and financially, including stock control, rotation and management
