Veraison Educator

Veraison are leaders in the provision of objective led wine training for the hospitality industry, providing unique course frameworks that our educator-qualified tutors tailor to fit the specific needs of our clients. We are the educational arm of Berkmann Wine Cellars, a well-established independent wine distributors, and were born from a need within the on-trade for flexible, accessible, informal training for all front-line staff working with wine.
Passionate about the delivery of top quality wine-service education, we are now seeking an equally enthusiastic and engaging Wine Educator to join our team. This is an ambassadorial role based in London, where you will assist with the delivery of the Veraison education programme within a challenging and dynamic market place.
Key responsibilities:
· To deliver inspirational and engaging training sessions
· To conduct knowledge assessments prior to training, advising and tailoring each course to fit clients’ specific requirements, ensuring the delivery of all relevant modules
· Record taking, data-catch and follow ups with customers, providing an excellent level of customer service in line with the Veraison and Berkmann Wine Cellar values
· Weekly reporting back to National Training Manager
· To monitor competitor training programmes in order to facilitate benchmarking
· Apply creative thinking to new subjects of interest, possibly leading to the creation of new Veraison modules and methods of training, ensuring that Veraison remains at the vanguard of wine education to the on-trade
Essential requirements:
· WSET qualified to a minimum of Level 3 Award in Wines and Spirits
· WSET Course Educator qualification desirable
· UK drinks on-trade experience desirable, consumer facing or B2B
· You will be working within the on-trade, so a good working knowledge of the trade will be required
· Experience of working closely with customers and with good contacts within key external organisations
· Excellent verbal and written communication
· Self-assurance, gravitas and a strong desire to build clients’ trust and confidence
· Good organisation skills and attention to detail
· Positive, ‘can-do’ attitude essential
· Able to effectively manage workload and work to deadlines
· High level of computer literacy
This position will suit a professional candidate with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills who is looking to develop their career as a Wine Educator. A solid foundation of wine knowledge is imperative, as are communication and relationship management skills.
