Transport Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

The Role: You will be one of three managers who ensure that the Operations Department delivers a truly great customer experience.  You will be responsible for the loading and delivery of all the stock and ensuring that our clients contact with your team is the best in the industry.  You will run your own budget.  This will be a position of trust where accuracy and reliability really matters.  Your ability to communicate and liaise within our organization is central to the task.

We deliver 'just enough, just in time' logistics to our clients, many of whom are blue chip companies in the centre of London and rely on us not to fail.  We have a reputation of being more responsive, faster and more flexible for our clients than our competitors.  Therefore, you will be expected to deal with all the challenges that arise from time to time in this fast-paced industry.

You will work side by side with the Warehouse Manager and closely with the Customer Service Team Leader to deliver the targets for the Operations Department.  Your work place is a modern bespoke building.  The job is far from routine; every day is different due to the nature of our growing business; it calls for a dynamic proactive individual who is skilled and experienced.

* Directly in control of all delivery team KPI and recording them.

* Managing fleet maintenance.

* Maintaining the fleet records. 

* Supervising loading.

* Overseeing vehicle routing. 

* Developing your team.

* Appraising for your team.

Required knowledge, skills and competencies:

* At least 1 years' experience as a Transport Manager.

* Evidence based analysis and planning of routing, loading, equipment usage etc.  

* Comprehensive knowledge of all regulatory requirements for 3.5t LGV fleet. 

* Able to write and deliver appraisals and other personnel management processes.

* Good communication skills.

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel & word.

* Multi drop delivery experience in London.

* Full clean license.

* Understanding of the transport sector in London.

Desired knowledge, skills and competencies:

* National CPC Fleet Management.

* Had previous experience of FORS (Fleet operator's recognition scheme).
