One of the greatest names in British brewing is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Shift Brewer to help take Truman’s to the next level.
About Us:
Truman’s has been a part of London life for almost 350 years. Closed in 1989 during the dark days of the brewing industry. Truman’s was re-established in 2010 and since that time the team have been working hard to bring Truman’s back to its former glory. Crafting an eclectic range of great beer in cask, keg, bottle and can- all brewed with skill, belief and passion, from our brewery in Hackney.
About You:
A team player with responsibility for the supervision of a small team, you will hold either a science degree, IBD Diploma in Brewing Module One or an equivalent brewing qualification. A minimum of 3 years practical brewing experience at craft scale or greater is required. You will be an enthusiastic self starter, hands on, physically fit and committed to getting tasks done through your team. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Shift wort production
- Filtration, racking and kegging
- Managing brewhouse cleaning& hygiene
- Being able to write or review SOPs (including brewhouse related services)
- Fermentation checks
- Assisting with plant maintenance
- Maintaining accurate production records
- Food product safety
- Managing health &safety
- Duty weekend cover
- Assisting with project work
- Helping mentor & develop the team
- Working to industry best practices
- Ensuring the supply of beer
- Driving improvements across the brewhouse by looking at yields, costs & efficiency
- Managing raw material stocks
- Operating within budget
