In this role, the successful candidate will be expected to provide a consistently high level of customer service in line with the standards expected of Berry Bros & Rudd, selling the full range of BB&R products and services to customers via the shop, phone and e-mail and general till duties and transactions. Additional responsibilities will include merchandising and re-stocking of the shop, acknowledgement and distribution of deliveries and general shop house-keeping. The nature of the London Shop business will require occasional manual handling within the cellars as well as shop floor sales.
The successful candidate should have previous retail experience, combined with demonstrable experience of delivering and maintaining an outstanding level of customer service. Candidates should be enthusiastic, proactive and effective team players, and be committed to going the extra mile. They must be excellent communicators, both verbally and in written form; with the ability to speak other languages (ideally Mandarin, Portuguese or Russian) considered an advantage for this role. Wine knowledge is essential, with candidates being qualified to WSET Advanced level as a minimum requirement. WSET Diploma or equivalent would also be considered an advantage.
Hours of work are 35 hours per week, worked on a rota basis with five shifts across Monday to Saturday. Opening hours in the shop are 10.00am to 9.00pm Monday to Friday and 10.00am to 5.00pm on Saturday. A degree of flexibility will be required due to the varying demands of the business.
