Regional Marketing Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

DESCRIPTION

Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Customer Marketing, the Bibendum Regional Marketing Manager is responsible for owning the end to end city plan with a focus of time split 70% London, 30% other regions. The Regional Marketing Manager will develop a plan to support the 4 segments in sales City plan strategy:

  • Fine Wine / Fine dining
  • Premium restaurant / Luxury Hotel
  • Premium bar / premium casual dining
  • Premium Groups

This role is pivotal in enhancing Bibendum’s reputation in Regional Business and will work across a wide variety of sales stakeholders from Sales Directors through to BDE’s.

Core accountabilities

  • Create and implement a quarterly Sommelier engagement plan
  • Create an influencer event program that sits outside Group events e.g.: Pop up tastings / Billingsgate Riesling and Oyster that is on trend and targeted at trade influencers
  • Support the BDE team in planning and prospecting for new business
  • Attend monthly London sales meetings to update and share progress and identify new opportunities
  • Create and implement bespoke plans to support the Premium Restaurants / luxury Hotel target segment, including implementation of wine list design, account specific activations and any other promotions
  • Work with wider Commercial Marketing team to submit plans for Premium Group segment
  • Be in trade at least 2 days a week and comfortable with social networking
  • Enjoy working in the evenings as most of our customers and influencers are in the OT at this time
  • Have a Producer led approach; acting as an ambassador of the supplier in the market place to get cut through and make impact
  • Be the Bibendum brand voice in trade: Bibendum is a pioneer in the market with a reputation for inspirational, passionate, wine experts that lead and never follow – build on this and create a platform in London for sales to leverage when prospecting with trade influencers
  • High wine knowledge and passionate about our portfolio with an ability to provide and translate interesting content
  • Be the best at informing, educating and empowering Accounts with Producer stories
  • Be a brave, bold, edgy and creative individual that explore and discover new ways for Bibendum to have presence in SM / Instagram / bloggers / all influencers are active in this arena and it’s a profile builder
  • Commercial acumen complimented by creative flair which is Brand Bibendum
  • Report back to the wider business; capturing latest wine trends innovations from London / NY etc to further feed our Insights into the On Trade
  • Transfer knowledge of trends and innovation in London with other Regional Bibendum to execute locally
  • Closely work with Channel Director London & Director of Regional Sales to ensure plans meet the sales growth target for City plans
  • Work with Training to create a relevant train the trainer program that’s fit for audience of sommeliers and trade influencers
  • Evaluate all activity for the Head of Customer Marketing and as part of the wider Commercial Marketing team

Monthly visits to Accounts head office or in on trade

REQUIREMENTS

Skills required

  • Vinous: focus on premium wine (85%) and also craft spirits (15%+) – Diploma level
  • End to end project planning and delivery
  • Writing specific and accurate briefs
  • Ability to influence internal & external stakeholders
  • Excels at multi tasking and project prioritisation

Experience/knowledge required

  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Marketing degree or professional Marketing qualification
  • Proven track record of success in a marketing role, preferably within a trade / B to B focus
  • Understanding of the National On Trade channel
  • Demonstrable ability to work with market insights & ability to build strategy
