Are you looking to take the next step in your global PR and Communications career within a leading luxury goods company that is widely recognised as a market leader across the Luxury Scotch whisky and Premium gin category?
An exciting opportunity for a talented and confident PR Officer has arisen to cover Maternity Leave in our Communications team based out of the Chivas Brothers’ riverside London offices in Hammersmith.
Working in the position of PR Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the reputation management of our Scotch whisky and English gins brands by running a ‘best in class’ international press office function including all systems and processes. As part of this, you will be the first point of contact for media and market enquiries related to our brands; and manage and proactively develop long-term, effective relationships with international media and key market contacts.
Working as part of the Communications Team, you will manage and drive the international Trade PR programmes taking responsibility for the retained agency’s work-plan, budget and performance against objectives. You will Lead and manage trade focused press events in consultation with the International PR Manager, such as product launches and assist on corporate events including our annual Christmas media lunch and financial results.
We are looking for a self-motivated, passionate and solutions driven individual who has had experience in a busy Press Office – either from agency or in-house – who is a creative and enthusiastic team-player with a passion for working with international and specialist media. You should be able to handle complex issues and juggle competing priorities successfully with excellent communication, time management and presentation skills. You will need good numerical and analytical ability and a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook. You will have the initiative to innovate new processes, systems and ad hoc solutions. Solid project management experience is vital.
In addition, you will:
- Have an excellent understanding of media relations and press office duties
- Have a proactive and flexible attitude
- Be highly-organised with well-developed planning skills
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude
- Have budget management skills
- Boast a proven track record of hosting groups of journalists, organising press events
- Be confident to deal effectively with internal and external contacts and work with junior, senior and executive management
There is a moderate level of travel associated with this role, mainly to Scotland but occasionally overseas.
