A rare opportunity has arisen to join the UK’s leading bar solutions provider for festivals, live and outdoor events. Our clients include some of the largest and most exciting festivals in the UK including Isle of Wight, Bestival, BST in Hyde Park, Love Supreme, Sunfall, Secret Garden Party, Glasgow Summer Sessions, London Pride, Henley Regatta, Field Day, and many more.

Peppermint’s account managers form a key part of the new business team, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of client requirements across the full range of Peppermint services. The successful candidate will become a core part of this exciting business, where you will be encouraged to go out and find new, exciting events for Peppermint to work on to underpin your central role as a revenue generating account manager. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, enthusiastic professional to take the next step in their career within an established and rapidly growing business.  We are looking for bright, down to earth, smart, articulate candidates who are passionate about festivals and live events to join the team to primarily sell profitable and great-looking bar solutions to festivals, live events and outdoor concerts.

You must be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and possess previous sales experience working in a similar industry (live events, alcohol, drink brands, bar companies, festivals etc.). You must possess previous budgeting experience, creative tender proposal writing experience, and a proven track record of successfully managing accounts within the entertainment / music / live / outdoor events industries.

It’s also essential that candidates have strong commercial acumen and are comfortable working on percentages, margins, costs and gross/net profits across budgets as the core role responsibility is to create and offer compelling bars deals for promoters.

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • Managing and implementing the full sales process from lead generation, research and tender.
  • Taking briefs, create comprehensive proposals, delivering concise & engaging submissions and participating in face-to-face presentations
  • Tight management of budgets and target gross profit-responsible for driving the growth, activity and profitability of the department. Approximately 25% of your time will be spent costing jobs, performing financial analysis, creating budgets and detailed proposal writing.
  • Responsibility for reporting on and achieving annual sales budget and KPIs
  • Lead generation and identifying new opportunities through proactive calling
  • Follow up all enquiries with calls, emails and proposals within set timeframes-maximising conversion rate
  • Continually build and validate a database of client contacts
  • Building & maintaining strong relationships with prospects, clients, strategic partners and brand stakeholders – client relationships are key
  • Gaining a deep understanding of client's needs and raising Peppermint’s profile through networking at events.
  • Working with and establishing strong working relationships with Peppermint’s project management and operations teams to ensure delivery on the ground
  • Working on site at festivals over the summer months
  • Achieving and maintaining a detailed knowledge of products, services, industry developments and trends
  • Document collating, formatting, layout and printing- ensure all documents are free from errors and professionally represent Peppermint and are “on Brand”

 

Skills and Experience

 

  • Demonstrable sales experience working in a similar industry, (live events, alcohol, drink brands, festivals etc.)
  • Excellent attention to deal and a highly organised approach
  • Ability to prioritise and juggle a varied and sometimes heavy workload
  • Previous job costing / budgeting experience
  • Previous creative proposal writing with excellent writing skills
  • Strong commercial skills with experience analysing turnover, profit margins and detailed costings is required.
  • Exposure to working on live, outdoor or large scale events
  • Creative and innovative approach, ambitious and target-driven
  • Comfortable meeting face-to-face with clients and suppliers
  • Proven track record of delivering B2B sales via face to face and telephone
  • Willing to live and work onsite at festivals and events during and outside of regular business hours
  • Willing to undertake ad hoc tasks associated with working in a small team
  • Strong written, communication, numeracy and excel skills
  • Personable, confident, highly sociable and enthusiastic!
  • An event management degree with financial management components, OR strong academics in subjects such as maths, economics or business.

 Salary and benefits: 

  • £25,500 - £32,500 (dependant on experience)
  • £9,000 OTE commission
  • 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Standard working hours 10am – 6pm (this will vary during busy periods)
  • Paid overtime during summer months
  • Location: Colliers Wood, SW London
  • 3 month probation period.
