Purpose
The Inventory Analyst will be the conduit between Buying, Demand Planning and the warehouse and be accountable for the close management of our stock by liaising on all issues that are stock related, from dated stock to recommendations on reducing aged stock, plus some initiatives including supplier MOQ reviews for more favourable inventory holding. They will be expected to constructively challenge the Planners on stocking decisions and consult on forecast changes that impact stock. This role is office based.
Core accountabilities
- Ensure alignment of inventory between Tradeteam Reading, Bellshill and JDE
- Reduce dated stock disposal
- Reduce damaged stock disposal
- Reduce aged stock
- Advise on MOQ changes for suppliers
- Inventory issue resolution
REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL:
- Stock management and reconciliation experience
- Can demonstrate an ability to solve complex problems
- Has worked cross functionally
- Understands the concept of aged stock and dated stock
- Good understanding of stock movement implications
- Educated to degree level
PREFERRED:
- Financial or commercial understanding of warehousing and distribution
- Experience of working with a 3rd party distribution network
- Basic understanding of inventory implications on cash flow

The right individual for the role will be highly analytical and able to not only identify anomalies in data easily but to also have a successful approach to problem solving. They are required, at times, to be tenacious when needing to influence internally, and externally with the ability to build close working relationships with key contacts. They will be part of a team and will work cross functionally so good, open communication and teamwork are essential in the successful candidate. They will be proactive in their approach to answer the business needs with innovative solutions.
