Founded as a stall on London’s famous Borough Market in 2002, Borough Wines & Beers is now an award-winning independent wine, beer and spirits merchant, with eight shops in London and the South East, a growing online shop and a successful wholesale operation.
Following the opening of our new, dedicated events space on Essex Rd. – and in light of growing demand across existing sites – we are now recruiting for an Events Coordinator to join the Borough Wines & Beers team.
We are looking for an experienced events professional to help develop and grow our events offering, increasing profitability, engagement and reach through the sale of our private and corporate packages, which include (but are not limited to) tastings, supper clubs, dining events, wine classes and workshops.
You’ll need to be passionate about wine and dining, with a good knowledge of the London food and drink scene. Good sales skills will be key, as will excellent organisation and project management.
The role will be primarily based at our Essex Rd. shop and will also encompass an element of Venue Management for the event space there. This will include working with the Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running and maintenance of the site, as well as processing enquiries about the space and managing viewings / bookings.
The successful candidate will also work closely with the Communications Manager to market and promote all activity with the public, press and across social media.
The right person will have hands-on experience planning and running wine and / or dining events, and a trusted network of suppliers in the industry. We are looking for someone with the experience – and the contact book – to immediately make their mark on the business.
Responsibilities:
· Selling private and corporate event packages to new and existing customers
· Managing key relationships with corporate clients
· Programming and planning consumer events
· Working with the Communications Manager to promote events with press and across social media
· Working with the Buyers / Communications Manager to schedule supplier tastings and events
· Working with the Operations Manager to ensure sites are equipped as necessary for events
· Dealing with event enquiries and managing private bookings across all sites
· Managing the Borough Wines & Beers Events Calendar for all sites
· Reporting and evaluation
Essential:

· Good IT skills
· Good time management skills
